Bangladesh Mohila Shomity, researcher & keynote presenter, Evaluation of breast cancer awareness building, prevention and treatment related activities of Bangladesh Mohila Shomity, 2010

In 2010, as part of a critical public health initiative, a comprehensive research and evaluation study titled “Evaluation of Breast Cancer Awareness Building, Prevention, and Treatment Related Activities of Bangladesh Mohila Shomity” was conducted by CDCS®, with the researcher also serving as the keynote presenter. Spearheaded by the Bangladesh Mohila Shomity, one of the country’s oldest and most respected women’s organizations, the study aimed to assess the effectiveness and reach of its breast cancer awareness and prevention campaigns. The evaluation examined community outreach methods, knowledge dissemination strategies, and access to early detection and treatment services, particularly among underserved women. Drawing on field data, stakeholder interviews, and health outcome indicators, the research highlighted key achievements in raising awareness and reducing stigma, while also identifying critical gaps in screening coverage, referral systems, and follow-up care. Presented as a keynote at a national forum, the findings emphasized the need for integrated, community-based health education and stronger collaboration between NGOs, health institutions, and government agencies. This initiative reinforced Bangladesh Mohila Shomity’s vital role in women’s health advocacy and underscored the importance of evidence-based evaluation in scaling impactful interventions.
