At the esteemed 8th International Conference on the Restructuring of the Global Economy (ROGE 2018), hosted by the Said Business School, University of Oxford, in collaboration with the Academy of Business & Retail Management (ABRM) and the Journal of Business and Retail Management Research (JBRMR), a thought-provoking research paper was presented that contributed to the global dialogue on economic transformation in an increasingly interconnected world. The paper critically examined the shifting dynamics of global markets, trade realignments, and institutional reforms, with a specific focus on the implications for emerging economies like Bangladesh. By drawing from both empirical evidence and theoretical insights, the research unpacked the challenges and opportunities posed by globalization, technological disruption, and evolving governance structures. Its core argument emphasized the need for strategic agility, inclusive policy frameworks, and capacity building to ensure that countries navigating structural economic changes do so in a way that promotes equity, competitiveness, and resilience. The presentation positioned the paper as a timely and relevant contribution to understanding how nations can better align local development priorities with global economic trends in the era of transformation.
