This initiative spotlighted the pressing need to transform Bangladesh’s food systems through stronger regulations, value chain accountability, and public awareness, all anchored in the broader agenda of sustainable development. The presentation traced the evolution of the safe food movement in Bangladesh, examining early advocacy efforts, policy milestones, and grassroots mobilization that laid the groundwork for a national commitment to safe, nutritious, and traceable food. It emphasized the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration—bringing together government regulators, agribusinesses, civil society, and consumers—to build a trusted brand identity for Bangladeshi food products, both locally and globally. Framed as a story still unfolding, the initiative called for continued investment in food safety infrastructure, innovation in traceability and certification systems, and strategic branding to position Bangladesh as a leader in safe and sustainable fo od.
