CDCS® developed the “Manual on Safe Food Marketing (Banana & Papaya)” for the Rural Development Academy (RDA), aimed at enhancing the marketing and value chain efficiency of select food products. The assignment involved a rapid market assessment and value chain research on three key items: banana, papaya, and processed foods produced by RDA, its beneficiaries, partners, and other stakeholders in Bogra and surrounding areas. The study identified gaps and opportunities in production, post-harvest handling, and marketing practices. Additionally, CDCS® analyzed capacity-building requirements, technology dissemination needs, and strategies for market access creation to upgrade value chains and link producers effectively to local and regional markets. The resulting manual provided practical guidance to strengthen safe food marketing practices and improve profitability for stakeholders.
