CDCS® led an endline study for the PACE at Community Project, a long-term initiative by CARE that aimed to improve the well-being of workers in the ready-made garment (RMG) and informal sectors in Bangladesh. The study focused on evaluating the project's impact over a seven-year implementation period, assessing its contributions to community development and the livelihood improvements of the beneficiaries.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, CDCS® adapted its data collection strategies, using online tools, telephone interviews, and other innovative methods to gather insights while adhering to safety guidelines during the lockdown.
The study involved engaging directly with community members to understand the changes brought about by the project in terms of employment, skills development, and economic resilience.
CDCS® provided a detailed assessment of the project's achievements, identifying areas of success as well as opportunities for future interventions. The findings from this study were critical for CARE Bangladesh, offering an evidence-based evaluation of the project’s effectiveness and helping inform the design of future community development programs aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of workers in Bangladesh's RMG sector.
