Under the UKaid/DFID, GIZ, SDC, EKN, and CIDA-supported Swisscontact KATALYST program, CDCS® implemented Phase-2 of Post-Harvest Management & Packaging Market Development across vegetables, fruits, fish, and flowers. The initiative promoted adoption of improved post-harvest handling and packaging techniques, reducing losses and enhancing product quality for smallholders.
Better packaging enabled farmers and traders to access higher-value urban and semi-urban markets, increasing profitability. The program directly empowered over 30,000 women through practical skills development in value addition and packaging entrepreneurship.
CDCS® also strengthened eight partner institutions, building a sustainable training ecosystem. By fostering linkages among packaging suppliers, agro-traders, and service providers, the project contributed to systemic market improvements and a resilient, scalable packaging value chain in Bangladesh.
