Under the UKaid/DFID, SDC, and DANIDA-supported Swisscontact KATALYST initiative, CDCS® conducted a comprehensive assessment on private sector challenges of doing business in remote chars and haors of Bangladesh.
The research examined systemic barriers including poor connectivity, limited financial services, climate vulnerabilities, and weak supply chain integration that constrain enterprise growth in these regions. Through stakeholder consultations and evidence-based diagnostics, the study provided development partners with a deeper understanding of market constraints and untapped opportunities.
CDCS® delivered actionable recommendations to guide future interventions, improve private investment readiness, and strengthen inclusive market systems—ultimately aiming to enhance livelihood opportunities and resilience for char- and haor-dependent communities.
