Under the World Bank/MoA, GoB-funded Krishi Gobeshona Foundation (KGF) initiative, CDCS® conducted Action Research on Market and Value Chain Studies of Selected Fruits and Vegetables, with a focus on postharvest losses and food safety in Bangladesh.
The study led to the enhanced adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) among thousands of farmers, including women, resulting in significant reductions in postharvest spoilage and income gains through improved handling, logistics, and marketing. By strengthening market linkages and integrating value chain actors, the research fostered a more competitive and sustainable agribusiness ecosystem.
Furthermore, consumers benefited from safer, traceable, and high-quality produce. The project’s adaptive model also ensured operational continuity during the COVID-19 crisis—setting a benchmark for resilient agricultural systems.
