CDCS® undertook the assignment of documenting the contributions and lessons of the EKATA (Empowerment, Knowledge and Transformative Actions) model under the USAID-funded Promoting Worker Well-Being Project implemented by CARE Bangladesh. The objective was to capture the key learnings, best practices, and transformative outcomes of the EKATA approach in empowering women garment workers and improving workplace relationships.
Through field consultations, data analysis, and storytelling documentation, CDCS® developed a comprehensive Learning Brief showcasing how EKATA strengthened women’s leadership, voice, and confidence, enhanced gender equity, and fostered collaboration between workers, management, and communities. The brief serves as a vital resource for scaling and replicating EKATA’s inclusive empowerment model across Bangladesh’s garment industry and other labor-intensive sectors.
